GCC to donate over $500 million Ramadan aid package for Yemen

Royal Group Charity would like to start by thanking the GCC for this year’s increased pledge of million of funding and it’s continued support to the humanitarian response in Yemen.

Charity in Ramadan: Giving

Giving has always brought out the best in people. Throughout the decades, people have sought different opportunities to give back to human kind.

There is little doubt that the amount of charities have increased, placing a greater need for the generosity of the general public.

Charity: Work

The holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims worldwide fast during daylight hours and abstain from other pleasures, is also the month where Muslims contribute to charity work, and donations for the less fortunate.

There is a noticeable increase in charitable work during the holy month.

We wish the whole year was this way. That’s one of the main purposes of Ramadan, to entice people to do good and to continue throughout the year.

Charity is never obligatory it is always additional. There’s no twisting your arm to do good.

Number one is feeding people, secondly clothing people, and finally housing them – no one should be homeless.

Royal Group Charity is committed to working during the holy month of Ramadan, such as feeding those that are less fortunate. by offering meals that breaks their fast every day.

Many international and national charity organizations take advantage of this month to provide for their various causes.

In the GCC ( Gulf Cooperation Council ) there is a particular drive by the community to help those less well off, Each year hundreds donate food, bedding, toiletries and clothes which are then handed out to workers as care packages.

Everyone participates in Ramadan, every resident tries to give. This is the month of giving, nothing beats that.

Royal Group Charity will continue to fight poverty worldwide and improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries.

Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait pledge over $1bn to Yemen:

Saudi Arabia pledged $500 million in humanitarian assistance for Yemen this year during a UN money-raising conference in Geneva.

The UAE also pledged $500 million while Kuwait committed $250 million for Yemen.

The UN said 40 pledges totaling $2.6 billion were received during the day-long conference, a 30-percent increase from the amount drummed up at a similar conference a year ago.

The United Nations’ “Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen” in 2019 seeks $4 billion to reach 15 million people across the country, after raising nearly $2.6 billion last year.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, opening the conference, lamented “an overwhelming humanitarian catastrophe” in Yemen, where some 24 million people, or four-fifths of Yemen’s total population, require aid and protection.

Britain promised $264 million, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) $24 million. Malaysia was also pledging $100,000 during the conference.

Royal Group Charity Assignment:

Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the world and are the midst of the worst cholera outbreak in history.

Ramadan is a time that Muslims worldwide can look forward to and come together to help those in need.

Royal Group Charity would go as far as possible to aid the suffering people of Yemen.

Our goals:

  • Help the poor families by providing them with food, water and financial aid.
  • Provide Iftar (hot meal) for the fasting.
  • Giving Zakat and Zakat Ul-fitr to those in need.

Our Ramadan Appeal:

Millions of men, women and children are on the brink of famine in Yemen. The United Nations described it as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and the International Development Secretary has warned it could go on to be the worst humanitarian crisis since the second world war.  The devastation of war, lack of resources and a weak health service have all combined to tear through Yemen’s infrastructure and leave millions of people without food or water.

With the hope of gaining your support so we can help as many needy people in Yemen as possible. As Ramadan is the most blessed months for us Muslims, it is a great chance for us to earn multiple rewards by giving to those who have less than us.

Fasting the month of Ramadan serves as a reminder of the hardships that millions of people living in poverty endure daily.

What we can do during Ramadan:

  • Provide food packs for poor families
  • Feed the fasting during the month of Ramadan
  • Sponsor orphans
  • Sponsor families during the month of Ramadan
  • Deliver Zakat to the poor and needy

Please help to provide food during the month of Ramadan in Yemen.

How you can help:

You can help by providing dates, rice, cooking oil, flour and sugar.

With this complete Ramadan package, this is a great opportunity to sponsor a family for Ramadan and make their Eid even more special by contributing new clothes, sweets or toys for children.

You can make a difference this holy month of Ramadan. Make a donation and become a part of this great cause.
