End to Poverty awareness campaign
Humanity has taken tremendous steps toward improving life for the world’s poorest people. Millions of people have gained access to clean water and millions more children now have access to life saving vaccines. Together, we can continue to push humanity forward.
Royal Group Charity Foundation, chaired by H.H Prince Khalid Al-Sabah, launches an End to Poverty awareness campaign.
Although poverty is considered one of the most critical issues in today’s society, only 10% of the cases are reported while 90% remain ignored.
Poverty is a global problem that is deeply rooted in the world we live in today.
Poverty is the state for the majority of the world’s people and nations. Why is this? Is it enough to blame poor people for their own predicament and be solely responsible for their plight? What about their governments? Have they pursued policies that actually harm successful development? Such causes of poverty and inequality are no doubt real. But deeper and more global causes of poverty are often less addressed.
Behind the increasing interconnectedness promised by globalization are global decisions, policies, and practices. These are typically influenced, driven, or formulated by the rich and powerful. These can be leaders of rich countries or other global actors such as multinational corporations, institutions, and influential people.
In the face of such enormous external influence, the governments of poor nations and their people are often powerless. As a result, in the global context, a few get wealthy while the majority struggle.
The silent killers are poverty, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. Despite the scale of this daily ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage.
For over 20 years, Royal Group Charity Foundation has supported and initiated projects in over 64 countries regardless of gender, race, or religion. We collaborate with a range of charities, government, and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education. Together, we can build bridges for a more compassionate, tolerant, and accepting world.
